"I will always be thankful that Amanda was part of my wedding. Since I don’t live in the Adirondacks, I didn’t meet Amanda until the morning of my wedding day, but it was easy to email and talk on the phone before the event to talk through all the details. Amanda has a calm manner that was reassuring in planning a destination-type wedding. She was professional about her services and her prices. There were no surprises. And the moment I met Amanda before the ceremony, I felt even better about her. She was wonderful. My family loved her. My husband and I don’t like posing for photos, but somehow Amanda made it seem effortless. After the wedding, we got a sneak peak of a photo emailed to us right away. The online proofs followed within a reasonable time after – less time than many people I know who had to wait months and months for their proofs. And then Amanda kept being wonderful. Together we designed an album with real mounted photographs, not a printed photo book like a lot of photographers push on their clients. We received the album about three months after our wedding date. When I opened the package, I jumped up and down, and got teared up at the same time. The album is beautiful, like an heirloom. The photos have such depth, light, and color. Amanda has an incredible eye, and I can’t have asked for more beautiful wedding photos. Or a better person to be part of one of the best days of my life! I can’t thank you enough, Amanda." Alison & Erik Lake Placid Wedding 5 / 5 stars

“Then followed that beautiful season…Summer….
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.”
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

This is Caleb. He stole my heart at “Hello.” :-)

It was such a pleasure to photograph Kelli and her sweet children. It had been YEARS since we had seen each other! I love that she chose a location that was close to her heart for her family portraits: her childhood home.

Thanks again, Kelli! It was so great to see you!

With the FitzGeralds living several hours away and only visiting for a few days, scheduling was a little tough. Most of my summer sessions were during the evening golden hours, when my husband is home caring for the kiddos. But the only time we could schedule this shoot was early in the AM. Mom was a little nervous about her kids waking up earlier than normal, but I told her the sun would be gorgeous at that time. Which it was. What neither of us were expecting mid- August, was how COLD it would be! And the grass was WET. I don’t think these girls were happy to see me! It took a little bit of coaxing, but they came around and we got some beautiful, smiling, photos with gorgeous golden sun! :-)

Thanks so much guys for a fun shoot! :-)

  • Nichole - We love our pictures! Thanks for taking you time with the girls to get some great shots!

  • Denise Purdy - Amanda you did a remarkable job of getting two girls that were woke up early, hurried to eat something , get dressed and told they were going out in the coldest morning we have had all summer onto wet grass. You took two crabby girls and transformed them into smiling, laughing little hams for the camera. Your pictures of Emily and Leah were amazing !!ReplyCancel

You’d think it would be easy to schedule a photo session with my own sister, but nope. We took these photos the day before she and my awesome little nephew moved to Florida. I miss them. I know they are having a fabulous time. I miss them. Theos is almost swimming now! Did I mention I miss them? ;)
