"I will always be thankful that Amanda was part of my wedding. Since I don’t live in the Adirondacks, I didn’t meet Amanda until the morning of my wedding day, but it was easy to email and talk on the phone before the event to talk through all the details. Amanda has a calm manner that was reassuring in planning a destination-type wedding. She was professional about her services and her prices. There were no surprises. And the moment I met Amanda before the ceremony, I felt even better about her. She was wonderful. My family loved her. My husband and I don’t like posing for photos, but somehow Amanda made it seem effortless. After the wedding, we got a sneak peak of a photo emailed to us right away. The online proofs followed within a reasonable time after – less time than many people I know who had to wait months and months for their proofs. And then Amanda kept being wonderful. Together we designed an album with real mounted photographs, not a printed photo book like a lot of photographers push on their clients. We received the album about three months after our wedding date. When I opened the package, I jumped up and down, and got teared up at the same time. The album is beautiful, like an heirloom. The photos have such depth, light, and color. Amanda has an incredible eye, and I can’t have asked for more beautiful wedding photos. Or a better person to be part of one of the best days of my life! I can’t thank you enough, Amanda." Alison & Erik Lake Placid Wedding 5 / 5 stars

“You are the sky. Everything else – it’s just the weather.” ~ Pema Chödrön

It wasn’t my first time on the Veteran’s Memorial highway, but I was still a little nervous during my 5 mile drive up Whiteface Mountain. It wasn’t the bumps or the steep winding turns of the road that had me worried; it was the massive downpour that threatened to put a damper on the wedding ceremony of Rob & Rebecca.

Shortly after arriving, prayers were answered and the rain stopped. What remained, was a fog so thick, visibility was zero. On a clear day, one can see all the way to Montreal, eighty miles away. On this day, that wasn’t the case.

But, that was OK. In fact, the mist and clouds made for an almost magical backdrop; perfect for a couple whose love and spirits could not be dampened.

“Grow old with me!  The best is yet to be.”  ~Robert Browning

It was such a pleasure to photograph Scott & Katie’s Wedding Elopement at The Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid. I mean REALLY. We had not met before, but in no time at all, I felt like I was hanging out with old friends. I could just feel how much they love each other, and it was such an honor to be a part of such a special day.

One of Scott & Katie’s very first dates was at a bowling alley, where they played air hockey.  Well, as luck would have it, The Whiteface Lodge actually has a bowling alley  . . .

And just because Scott & Katie are such a fun couple, they played some checkers . . .

and even enjoyed some popcorn! ;-)
